Part 2 of Cruel as Ice, Cold as Steel is released, continuing the adventures of Rathann and his serving of the Witch King:

First came the layers of heavy, indigo-hued woolen robes and steel-toed leather boots, then a reinforced kheitan made of quilted fabric and tanned human hide. Over the kheitan went a hauberk of blackened steel mail, with long sleeves and a broad skirt that hung down to mid-calf. The weight of the steel rings rested heavily on Rathann’s strong shoulders, aggravating the pain of the many bruises and shallow cuts that marked his arms and torso. The druchii scarcely noticed. He’d suffered worse on a daily basis during his years of training.

Status: Update Completed

As previously announced all North American servers will be brought down at 6:30AM EST to begin the deployment of Patch 1.0.6. Oceanic servers will follow at 9:00AM EST. We anticipate all servers to be online by 1:00PM EST.

As I mentioned on Friday, we had the chance to sit down with Destin Bales, Live Producer on Warhammer Online, to talk about a plethora of different issues that players are presently having; as well as their plans for new content in the future. Due to the length and the general flow of the interview -- I've decided to tease you by publishing the second part on Friday. Sorry!

Tamat : In a nutshell, what's the current state of Warhammer now that the dust from launch has settled?

With much anticipation, Update 1.0.6 has been officially announced! Tomorrow the servers will be taken offline at 6:30AM EST, with the Oceanic servers to follow at 9:00AM EST for the update.

This is our biggest update yet! It's chock-full of exciting career changes and heralds the debut of the highly anticipated Black Guard and Knight of the Blazing Sun careers. If you've finished the Heavy Metal event and have opened your Heavy Metal Chest, then you will be able to play a Black Guard and Knight of the Blazing Sun when this patch goes live (before anyone else!). For those of you who did not complete the Heavy Metal event, don't fret! You, too, will be able to play these two new careers starting next week.

Because this is such a massive update, we've added the notes directly into our wiki with discussion regarding the update located in our forums. Part 1 focuses on Highlights, Combat and Careers. Part 2 completes Combat and Careers and finishes with General Changes and Bug Fixes, Items, RvR, and UI.
